TSH Integrates Drug Pedigree Tracking into MDS ERP Software

A leading software provider for the Distribution Industry has announced the current release now incorporates a complete drug pedigree tracking system.
As members of the HIDA Pedigree Advisory Council, TSH heard the industry's cry for help and reacted. Current MDS customers can now request as part of their quarterly update to ability to track drug pedigrees.
The Pedigree Requirements
Section 503(e)(1)(A) of the (PDMA) Act establishes the pedigree requirement for prescription drugs. A drug pedigree is a statement of origin that identifies each prior sale, purchase, or trade of a drug, including the date of those transactions and the names and addresses of all parties to them. Under the pedigree requirement, each person who is engaged in the wholesale distribution of a prescription drug in interstate commerce, who is not the manufacturer or an authorized distributor of record for that drug, must provide to the person who receives the drug a pedigree for that drug.
The MDS System is a hybrid that will allow adoption of the Electronic pedigrees as the Industry creates a standard, currently it allows both scanning and manual input of pedigree and authentification information. From the point of receipt into the warehouse to the point of shipment each item is tracked thru the warehouse and is associated with an internal pedigree code. This code is then provided with each shipment and can create a Pedigree form based open the Florida standard or a generic paper. Alternately the Pedigree can be made available via a distributors website.
